    Cryptosporidial diarrhoea

    Second-line therapy 500 mg orally four times or 1g twice a day for 12 weeks.

    Often used in conjunction with azithromycin 500 mg daily

    Gastrointestinal effects: abdominal cramps and nausea (both common), diarrhoea; renal toxicity (rare); ototoxicity (rare)
